Level/
Age Group |
Skaters must compete at their highest tested level. Both partners must pass tests to the same level as entered in competition. The age grouping for ice dancers will be determined by the age of the older skater. Female/Female, Female/Male, and Male/Male partners are allowed.

Dance |
Music for the Ice Dancing events will be supplied by IGFSU. Dance 1 has mandatory patterns. The Dance(s) for other levels will be announced just prior to the competition. For the traditional dances, no more than seven introductory steps may be performed before the dance begins.

Emphasis/
Focus |
Dance teams will perform a free dance of their own design using any rhythm or a change of rhythm within their program. The Free Dance program should express the skaters' own inspirational and artistic capabilities and might contain sequences and segments from various dances within the ISI Ice Dancing 1 through 9 levels. Half-rotation jumps are allowed at all levels.
